Hi Viewers:
Welcome to DanceFIT Studio's blog. As the company's owner, I am putting DanceFIT out there for you to review with comments, concerns and of course, your favorite things. At DanceFIT Studio we pride ourselves in providing a comfortable and safe environment to workout and dance. If you are returning to fitness, new to fitness, a marathon runner, a professional dancer, a new mother, male or female, dancefit has something for you. Please try a class with a open mind.
What exactly is DanceFIT? A common question is, do we dance in every class? No no, if we did, maybe half of my participants would be scared of coming to class. Being a strict classical ballet dancer during my youth, I trained in many different forms: yoga, pilates, weight training and of course taking many classes in various types of dance. My fitness classes are an eclectic mix of my rigorous training, but aside from Adult Beginning Ballet, no dancing is incorporated into our hour fitness classes. We stretch our body a million different ways, we tone, lengthen and create the bodies of dancers.
I would like to take this first blog to thank those in my life who have made DanceFIT possible and as successful as it is. You all know who you are because you put up with my preoccupied nature, as my life these past few months has been spent on keeping up with this growing business. Most specifically though, I'd like to thank my husband, Chris who supports me in every way possible, whether its designing fliers, testing out my new curriculum, purchasing new props, or giving me advice on structuring classes. Your superb writing and editing skills have helped me along the way with proposals, articles, and correspondence. Thank you, thank you. I would also like to thank my best friend, Lindsay Craw, an active and seasoned yogi, who co-teaches every Saturday morning's ballet class with me. She is a natural with children, and her organizational skills have helped me tremendously. She also is the creator of this beautiful blog. Thank you so much. I would like to lastly thank my mom, who passed away a few years ago, but without her spirit right beside me every step of the way, I would not be in this place. She instilled in my sisters (Angie and Mia) and me the passion and appreciation for the arts and the determination to accomplish what we want out of life.
I would like to thank all current DanceFIT participants. Most of you have been taking my classes for years now and your enthusiasm is why I love my job so much. Thank you parents for introducing your children to the beautiful art form of ballet.
Thank you for reading this introduction, and you will hear more from me later.
~Gina
