DanceFIT Studio Client Spotlight: Anna Kroesser!

Please welcome Virtual client (and very occasional in studio client as she lives in NYC), Anna Kroesser! Anna is a Small Business Owner and has worked with her business partner to create a wonderful Interior Design firm, Kroesser + Strat Design LLC in NYC.  Read below and find out why Anna loves the DanceFIT Community so much!

1. Tell us about yourself.  How did you start working out with DanceFIT?

Hi, I’m Anna. I live in NYC with my husband and 2lb chihuahua, Jasmine, and am a partner at a small interior designer firm.  My sister, Katrina, kept bugging me to try it and I said no about ½ dozen times because I didn’t get it.  But finally I tried it and I was hooked.

2.  As a Virtual client, how has working out with DanceFIT changed your workout routine?

Well the crux of my issue with working out is I’m lazy. There’s a gym in our apartment building and I rarely use it.  Because I have a home office and odd work hours, I love knowing I can hop in a class and then go cook dinner right after. Basically, I have NO excuse now.
3.  What songs on your playlist keep you motivated during a workout?

The ladies that teach the classes always have awesome playlists, but if I am on my own running etc. I am a big fan of Jay-Z + Kanye’s Watch the Throne- As Will Ferrell says in one of the songs “It Really Gets Me Going!”
4.  What is your favorite DanceFIT class and why?

This is an unfair question!! They all meet different needs.  Cardio + Core is exactly what I want when I need to step up my game- it’s never easy!  I love the arms + abs classes, plank + core with alissa is so consistently amazing (and so is lower body tone- more ppl should take that- it gets muscles I never knew existed)

5.  Tell our readers what your favorite go-to pre-workout snack is!

Probably raw almonds- I try to keep them in the apt because those few hours before dinner I am usually so hungry and I tend to eat dinner after a class. They fill me up enough and powers me through a workout.

6.  What is your best piece of fitness advice or inspiration?

I have to say I am so inspired by all the mommas that I take classes with (that includes Gina because I really don’t know how she does it all).  They always have the funniest stories about their kids, and even when they have had a long exhausting day of work/kids, they still find the motivation to work out- so then it makes me think, what’s my excuse?!

7.  What is your FIT fashion?  What do you usually wear for workouts?

I really need new workout clothes and am gonna check out the Old Navy line.  I wear a lot of lululemon. It’s expensive so I don’t have a million pieces, but the ones I do have, I wear all the time!

8.  What do you tell your friends and family when they ask about why you love DanceFIT so much?

What I love most is the community that DanceFIT creates.  I am a big proponent of women supporting other women and there is no better example than DanceFIT.  It is a group of lovely, strong and smart women and I admire them all.

9.  You’ve recently started your own interior design business in NYC. What do you find most rewarding about being a female small-business owner?  What is the most important thing you’ve learned about being a small-business owner?

Hmm... good questions although I am still figuring it all out.  Something surprising that we are noticing is the clients that choose to work with us like our design aesthetic, but more importantly want to support us as young women running our own business.  That kind of support is what keeps us going- emotionally, mentally. One of the hardest and most important things about being a SB owner is discovering your self worth.  Yes we are two young women doing something thousands of other people in this city are doing, but we’re good at what we do- it’s hard to give yourself kudos, but if you aren’t going to, who will?

10.  When you’re not working or taking DanceFIT classes, what do you like to do in your spare time?

Ha! There isn’t much time for anything else, but time with family is so precious to me. Whether it’s relaxing on the sofa with my husband, or driving to MA to see my family or CT to visit the in-laws, family keeps me grounded, it creates a sense of calm.  This city is nuts and going home helps me to settle my heart + mind.

Thank you for letting us feature you this week, Anna!  You are a beautiful example of someone who puts a lot of hard work into making dreams come true...congratulations on being such a success in the small business world!
