Why do you support Small Business Saturday?
We have friends + family members who own small businesses. We know that when we purchase from them or use their services, we are helping to grow their business, put food on the table for their families and pay the bills.
Why is it important to support other women in the small business industry?
We know first hand what a big, giant leap it is to start your own business. Every women owned small business has it's own story. Maybe it's someone who left their corporate 9-5 job for something that truly fulfills them, or it's a woman who has a full time job as a mom and still needs to financially provide for her family. Whatever it is, recognizing the sheer bravery that it took for that woman to take the next step, to put her plan into action, is all the reason anyone should need to support a women owned small business.

Well not only is she a friend of ours, but her cookies are delicious! We love Robyn Frank + her Thumbs Cookies story. Making these cookies is a tradition the women in her family have done for decades and has been passed on through each generation. The Third Piece is a knitwear company that creates stylish and innovative hand-knit accessories. We recently launched our sophmore Fall/Winter collection "Adore" that is sold through through exclusive boutques including Henri Bendel in NYC. A “third piece” is an accessory or piece of clothing that finishes your outfit by stylishly adding flair, color and personality. Pieces within our collections consist of a variety of accessories such as scarves, hats, and headbands in luxurious fabrics, latest trends, and colors that are all hand-knit in the Boston area by a team of skilled knitters.
We support Small Business Saturday as it is important to invest in the communities around us. In the fast growing, global environment and economy we live in, local small business help to create more jobs and opportunities within our community. It is easy to often get caught up in the convenience and homogeny of the 'big box" chains, but small business add a uniqueness and diversity to the marketplace that fuel innovation.
We are a business that is built upon the need to support women. Our goal is to create products and a lifestyle that other women want to be a part of. Our entire team at The Third Piece is made up of an amazingly talented and diverse group of women of all ages, young and old, that have experienced many hardships in various ways, both personally and professionally.
