Should I come?

I had a participant e-mail me this week asking when she should draw the line on working out. She had come down with a bad cold with all the general symptoms.  I thought I'd share my insight with all of you.   The general rule is if your symptoms relate specifically to your neck up, then you are generally OK to workout.  However, if you have any ailments from the neck down, you should NOT workout.  If you are congested with a fever or the chills, it is best to stay in and rest. Aerobic and anaerobic activity can overwork your heart and could cause your chest cold to develop into bronchitus or pneumonia.  If you just have a simple head cold with sinus irritation, sneezing, sniffles, etc, it is fine to workout as long as you have a normal energy level.  Keep you level of intensity low and keep hydrating.  Soon enough you will fight off the bug.
